PMI PDU Information
Professional Development Units (PDUs)
PMI NAC supports the on-going professional development of certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs) and the maintenance of the PMP certification. PMI NAC does this through its Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. Read more about the CCR program.
About Professional Development Units (PDUs)
- The PDU is the measuring unit used to qualify approved learning and professional services activities.
- These activities must be related to project management topics that are substantially consistent with the knowledge areas and processes as outlined by A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOKĀ® Guide) and involve appropriate expert resources.
- Typically, one PDU is earned for every one hour spent in a planned, structured learning experience or activity. Fractions of PDUs may be reported in 0.25 increments following one full hour.
Calculating PDUs for PMI NAC Conference 2008 and SeminarCity
To assist attendees with determining the number of PDUs earned for the participation in PMI NAC Conference and SeminarCity, the following worksheets are available:
2008 PDU information is also contained in the Program Schedule and SeminarCity Highlights. It lists the PDU Tracking Number and value for each session and/or event.
How to Report PDUs Earned
PMPs should calculate their PDUs earned for each activity attended at this event using the PDUs provided in the Program Schedule and SeminarCity Highlights. After determining their earned PDU, PMPs may complete the online reporting form. PMI NAC Conference and SeminarCity activities are submitted as PDU Category 3 claims. PMPs will be required to enter each session separately ensuring to capture the PDU Tracking Number and value. Supporting documentation for participation at PMI NAC Conference should be kept in the PMPs Continuing Certification Requirements Folder.
All PMPs should maintain a personal CCR folder with documentation that supports reported activities. This supporting documentation should not be submitted when claiming PDU credits. It is only requested during a renewal audit.
